Design and Implementation of A Digital Prepress System Based on the Unification Technology of Four-Color and Special-Color Separation

Digital prepress in general contains four-color and special-color separation techniques．TOP is a CAD／CAM system that integrates the two techniques．It can meet the requirements of printing on both paper and textile．It has a multi-level system structure centered on the unification technology knowledge base．Both the four-color separation model based on CMYK and the special-color separation model based on two-segment classification by the relationship of their locations are presented．A knowledge base of unification technology has been built．Under the constraint of the unification technology the printing objects will be processed according to the different requirements．
