Study of the Modeling Formalism Based on Directed Graph for Simulating Manufacturing Systems

  • The requirements for simulating manufacturing system are analyzed and the corresponding modeling formalism is presented,which uses jointly the approaches of object-oriented analysis,3d geometry,and simulation techniques.The model is represented by a 3D directed graph with the physical equipments constituting the nodes and the flow of workpieces forming the directed arcs among nodes.Four types of modeling components are constructed to materialize and operate the simulation model,namely object relations,behavior and finite-state machine,hierarchical structure,and 3D graphics.An integrated virtual simulation platform InteVSS has been implemented to rapidly modeling the manufacturing system.
