SDAI is the standard data access interface of STEP. In this paper, we introduce the main function and compositon of SDAI, classify SDAI operations into classes and present their implementation in OSCAR: an object oriented DBMS which is designed and developed by ourselves. Several important problem solving techniques are also presented. Finally, we analysis the advantages and disadvantages of the SDAI.
