Bidimensional EMD for Texture Analysis and Estimation of the Instantaneous Frequencies of an Image

  • A new algorithm based on bi-dimensional empirical mode decomposition (BEMD) is developed to extract features of texture at multiple-scale spatial frequencies. Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) and direct method are applied to estimate the instantaneous frequencies of the multi-component AM-FM image respectively. All algorithms are demonstrated in the experiment with either synthetic or natural images.
