Cigarette Counting and Recognition Based on Rotating Code and Template Matching

  • Cigarette template is constructed according to geometrical features of cigarette, and this twodimension template is mapped to an integer with a coding scheme named rotating code. Then rotating code is used to describe the attributes of cigarette, and the standard code of every attribute is obtained by attribute transformation. In the process of template matching, the rotating code and attribute transformation are applied to the sub-image covered by the template. The differences between the attributes codes of the template and those of sub-image are used to establish the cigarette recognition criterions.Experiments show that this method can solve the counting and recognition problem of connective cigarettes and misshapen cigarettes, and the counting accuracy can meet the application requirement.
