Model Smoothing and Realistic Texture Mapping in Human Face Synthesis

Abstract
In this paper,the smoothness of thin-plate spline is applied to the model adaptation, which makes the adapted model smoother and more realistic. In texture mapping,a new method of model blocking based view-dependent texture mapping is proposed.In this method,the model is divided into parts first and each part is mapped with the clearest and non-redundant texture.It makes the transition band between blocks very much regular and the blending of texture blending easily.The model is rendered one time block by block.Then,abstract muscles are embedded into the model and realistic face expressions are synthesized.Experiments indicate that the algorithm is fast and compact,and the face synthesized is very realistic,with the face details are clearly produced very much.
