Selective Coefficient Scan Algorithm in Embedded Zerotree Wavelet Coding

In accordance with the distribution characteristics of subband coefficients of image coding with wavelet decomposition，an adaptive selective coefficient scan algorithm is proposed．Simulation results show that the algorithm efficiently keeps many visual-sensitive high frequency details of source image and significantly improves the visual quality of the reconstructed image．The algorithm is also prospective in video coding，especially in low bit rate applications．
