A Functional Vector Coding Method for Mechanism Scheme Design

Abstract
Aiming at the disadvantages of low automation in mechanism scheme design,a functional vector coding method is put forward. In the method,mechanism functions are expressed by functional vectors,which include the dua-l functional vectors denoting direction and a functional matrix denoting quantity. A compensatory matrix is introduced to iteratively decompose the functional matrix. The functional vector coding method is applied to the extraction and operation of the mechanism functions.With the method,a mechanism function database is built,and a mechanism scheme conceptual design system is developed. The application results show that the method is feasible and can improve the automation performance of mechanism scheme design.
