CUBIC POLYNOMIAL INTERPOLATION OF SCATTERED DATA POINTS

  • This paper presents a method to construct cubic polynomial interpolation on the scattered data points. The method divides the given region into triangulation, and constructs a cubic patch on each triangle. The properties of the equation set composed of the C1 conditions which the whole surface has to satisfy is discussed and a technique for solving the equation set is given. The polynomial precision set of the method includes all the polynomials of degree three or less.
