Spherical Harmonic Representation of Extended Distance Feature for 3D Model Retrieval

  • The paper proposes a novel feature vector suitable for searching3D models by shape similarity. The feature vector is obtained by forming a spherical function of max distance on the surface of the model. Then,spherical harmonic transform is used on the sphere.The energy of the coefficients of spherical harmonics forms the feature vector.Combined with the previous approach,it can search more efficiently and be used for more type of models.
