The Present State and Trends of CAD Data Transfer Standards

This paper expounds the necessity of data transfer among different CAD systems. It introduces the development of IGES-the most widely used for mats for data exchange in the world. This paper also briefly overviews some other current specifications for data exchange. Finally, it descrihes the efforts of ISO for developing STEP.
