Wavelet Decomposition Based Image Registration

Decomposed wavelet components of the original images are used to improve the speed of image registration. Theoretical deduction shows that the transformation matrix needed to registrate the decomposed wavelet components is identical to that for correcting the original image, but the amount of computation is reduced to only one quarter of the latter. Experiments on registration of MRI image gave satisfactory results.
