THE INTEGRATION OF FEATURE-BASED MODELING AND FINITE ELEMENT METHODS

In this paper，how to integrate featuer-based modeling with finite element methods and its key problems is discussed．The current obstacles existing in the automation of pre-processing of finite element methods are particularly analyzed，then an overall idea is given for solving those obstacles using feature-based methods and artificial intelligent methods．At the same time，the feature-based post-processing of finite element methods is also developed．From the above discussion，foundations has been laid for the integration of CAD and CAE．
