Parameterizing 3D Human Model in Garment CAD

  • Since the 3D human model represented by triangle meshes hardly contains semantic parameters a novel method for parameterizing 3D human body model is presented.First of all, sample points are got by intersecting a set of sampling radial lines with triangle faces of the body surface. Then the contour curve of human body is constructed by fitting a B-Spline curve to the above sample points. Users interactively pick out parameter information from the feature points of original body model and create a parameterized template of 3D human body.A new customized body model is generated easily by modifying the template’s parameters. The presented method can be used for customized garment design.
