Research on Shared Learning Mechanism in Design Environment

Design is a complex process of problem solving and knowledge refinement. Learning from past design examples can improve computer based design support systems effectively. This paper analyses the relation between design and learning activities to propose a learning model of design. The architecture of design agent with inductive learning mechanism is presented. The knowledge representation and learning algorithms with which a multi-agent system supporting learning in design is introduced. Finally, the paper presents a multi-agent system which supports shared learning in the design environment.
