A SEMANTIC MODEL OF ENGINEERING INFORMATION STRUCTURE

  • This paper presents a new semantic model which can support the structural management for various kinds of relative data (for example, product graphs, process specifications, technological equipments and etc.)in CIM. Following the definitions of object and object class in the problem filed,this paper establishes semantic relations between objects on the basis of researching the connections between objects and then gives the definition of operations upon objects and semantic relations so that a semantic model of engineering information structure-oriented is obtained.
    The model presents the hierarchical structure of a project (a set of object classes, semantic relations and operations). The structure graph of a project can be able to transformed into a tree by establishing equivalent relations to shared objects, further .a product and their interrelated data in CIM engineering can be managed structurally by the way of a tree.
