Manufacturing Resource Modeling and Virtual Telepresence in Networked Manufacturing

Globalization and agility of manufacturing industry call for virtual remote manufacturing. Focusing on realization,the authors investigate a web-based manufacturing infrastructure which integrates several key techniques,including virtual telepresence,VRML/EAI-oriented modeling of manufacturing resources,networked evaluation and so on.The prototype platform MCMS-online is developed to respond to the manufacturing tasks and form one or several virtual manufacturing enterprises.By evaluating customer’s satisfaction,an optimized result can be reached to implement the task.
