Abstract
In order to meet the incresaing computational demand in science and engineering,an automatic and adaptive algorithm is designed for the finite mesh generation.By combing the advancing front method and the normal offsetting method,the algorithm improves the traditional mesh generation scheme thanks to the integration of simple and flexible density control and the rationlization of boundary discretization.The results show that the algorithm is capable of automatically and adaptively generating meshes with reasonable quality.The algorithm has been successfully applied to the computations of interactions from waves to structures in complicated sea areas.
