Virtual Restoration of Axisymmetric Relic Fragments

  • Based on the principle that the normal vector of a point from the surface of revolution intersects its rotational axis,a geometric method is proposed to estimate the axis of fragmented relic and restore its profile curve.Revolving the profile around its axis generates the original model with both inner and outer surfaces.Textures of the relic are collected and painted onto the model for exhibition in the Digital Museum of Archaeology.
