RENDERING THE 3D REALISTIC TERRAIN SCENE USING THE REMOTE SENSING IMAGES

  • The principle of rendering the 3D realistic terrain scene using the remote sensing images and the algorithm of texture mapping is introduced. The main procedure includes: measuring the coordinates of the characteristic points (targets) in the remote sensing images; determining the relation between remote sensing image and corresponding terrain model; grey resampling; displaying the realistic terrain scene. The results of the test show that the 3D realistic terrain scene rendered contains substantial information and has a good quality and reality.
