A Heuristic Method for Large Scale Partitioning

Artificial intelligence method is very effective in solving the complex combinatorial problems. With AI searching strategy, we develop a heuristic algorithm "segment and evaluation" and apply it successfully to large scale computer aided partitioning. The testing results are presented in this paper. This algorithm can be also used in the solution of these problems such as operations research and dispatch, communication and network, parallel processing VLSI, etc..
