The Present Situation and Advance of Graphics Standards

This paper is concerned with many issues of graphics standards, these in clude the achievements of graphics standards since the first ISO graphics standar GKS released at 1985, and some existing problems. The new development of graphics standards are described, these touch some new graphics standards:PHIGS +, X Win-dow, PEX, PostScript. Finally, some proposals for developing this area in our coun try are offered.
