AN IMPROVEMENT ON DIVIDING CUBES METHOD AND ITS APPLICATION

In this paper，three techniques have been developed to improve the conventional Dividing Cubes method．the new data structure and algorithm introduced is useful for interactive manipulation．Then，a solution for measurement of 3D distance and volume of an object is proposed．Finally，the algorithm is implemented for displaying 3D medical images of CT and MRI data．The experimental results show that the algorithm is practical and satisfactory．
