A PROTOTYPE SYSTEM FOR PRODUCT REQUIREMENT MODELING FOR CONCURRENT ENGINEERING

Based on the theories and methodologies on product requirement modeling，a prototype system is presented in this paper．Main modules of the system include product requirement acquisition，analysing，mapping into different stages of manufacturing and assembly．Equipped with this tool，it is expected that the implementation of concurrent design can be accelerated，as demonstrated by the presented engineering case study．Future work will focus on the expansion of the system with the adoption of virtual reality，multi media methods．
