New Advances in Database Technology

This paper introduces the origin, the basic concepts and new progre ss of database technology of The First International Conference on Deductive and Object-Oriented Data Base. Since deductive and object-oriented database now in the forefront of research in next-generation intelligent database systems, they support long transaction management, version management, dynamic schema update and complex object data model with rich semantics of engineering database system.
