The Assembly Model of Hierarchical Components

Assembly design is an important phase of product design.An object oriented, hierarchical,assembly component model is presented based on the idea of decomposition of design tasks.The hierarchical structures of assembly components represent the functional structures of artifacts. The relationship between function and components can be established through functional mapping.The assembly design tasks are studied based on the hierarchical component. An extendable mult-i level component database management strategy is also discussed.
