An Algorithm for Adaptively Selecting the Size of the Candidate Patches in Patch-Based Texture Synthesis

  • This paper investigates the effects of the size of the candidate patches on the final results of texture synthesis.Based on substantive analysis of various texture images,we found the relationship between texture relativity value and the size of a texture patch.We propose a novel approach to adaptively adjust the size of the candidate texture patches based on their texture relativity values,successfully preventing the increase of synthesis time and the degradation of synthesis quality caused by improper selection of the size of the candidate texture patches.
