A Qualitative Model of Part in Conceptual Design

Aiming at the qualitative features of concept part structures, the qualitative model of concept part is presented. It supports concept design and can be used to guide and control part shape design. The definition and classification of shape symbols, the general procedure and method of symbolizing components are discussed, and symbolizing examples of typical structure components are given. Qualitative geometry constraint, qualitative geometry constraint graph, qualitative merge operating are discussed and qualitative modeling examples are presented.
