An Approach to Establish Machining Sequence for Intersecting Features

The intersecting edges and faces form the common boundaries among intersecting features on the resulting part．Information about the feature intersection can be obtained by analyzing the type of intersecting features and characteristics of intersecting boundaries．Machining sequence rules for various intersecting features can be worked out adaptive to each kind of machining operations according to the intersection situation，types of intersecting features，and machining knowledge．Based on these rules，the algorithm for determining the machining sequence constraints of intersecting features is developed，resulting in high efficiency of process planning and rationality of machining sequences．
