WCEEC--A WEB-BASED ELECTRONIC CONFERENCE SYSTEM

This paper presents the design and implementation of WCEEC，a Web-based electronic conference system．Based on browser／server and multi-layers client／server structure，this system can support real-time，asynchronous and temporary conference working modes．It also has the ability to manage the whole conference process，to support several application tools．Written in Java applet，the client code can be downloaded and running on Web browser．WCEEC also supports audio and video tools through ActiveX components，which builds solid foundation for the construction of future Web-based CSCW system．
