Abstract
This paper presents the advances of research in mesh generation for finite element computation in last ten years. Firstly, the advanced of the common methods such as mapping methods, grid-based methods (include finite quadtree/octree methods), Delaunay triangulation and AFT methods are emphasized ;secondly, the main research fields such as surface meshing, all-hex meshing and parallel mesh generation are discussed in detail ;finally, the trends of mesh generation are presented briefly.
