Modeling and Visualization of Stratified Geological Objects

Concerning the absence of explicit representation of topological information in existing models of stratified geological objects that thwarts the analysis process, we present an improved model that explicitly presents not only the existing elements within the stratified structure, but also their spatial relationships. A software using the model has been developed and applied to modeling and visualizing for the coal deposit in Huolinhe, the aquifer thermal energy storage in Tianjin and the structure of meteorite impact in Cangshan et al.
