A Survey of Computer-Aided Conceptual Design of Mechanical Products

Based on the classification of information for describing the various aspects of mechanical products, a model of conceptual design is presented, and a survey of its computer-aided tools to solve the problems of function, behavior, structure and shape is given. The requirements of shape representation for conceptual design are put forward, and the future trends of development for computer-aided conceptual design are discussed.
