CAD for the Fiber Path and Machine Path of Composite Elbows

  • According to the specific relationship of geometrical elements, several methods are presented to decompose face adjacency attribute graph (FAAG) into smaller sub-graphs. For instance, inner loops, loop across several adjacent faces, etc are used to decompose FAAG. To enhance the speed and stability of further processing subsequent steps involve: sorting sub-graphs; extracting recognizable simple features; reorganizing the remaining sub-graphs according to a set of rules and extracting complex features; validating the final feature model by REM (Remove Faces Component) function of ACIS5.0. Benchmarks from NIST parts library are used to verify the effectiveness of our approach.
