Curve Pencil Based Intersection for Degenerated Cases of Curves

Testing and accurate computing of intersection are two of key issues in the degenerated curve intersections.This paper presents a curve pencil based method for the degenerated intersection between lines,line and circle,as well as line and planar NURBS curve.It converts the degenerated intersection problem into a regular intersection problem between line and curve in the curve pencil.Both testing and accurate computing of intersection of the new regular intersection problem can be solved by general numerical methods.Examples illustrate its accuracy and robustness of the new method.
