Abstract:
This paper describes the fundamental concept of virtual manufacturing (VM) technology and its categorization,and discusses the application of design-centered virtual manufacturing technology in automobile parts design. In terms of VM technology, by choosing a VE pump of diesel motor as a study sample, a rupture problem of transmission assembly in VE pump is discussed in the paper. The discussion covers the complete phases in the total life cycle of the products, including virtual design, virtual prototyping kinematics and dynamics simulation, virtual assembly, FEA, virtual process etc. The analysis is validated by experimentation, and a solution is put forward in the conclusion part by taking into account of enterprise practice.
