Abstract:
Cloth modeling methods are divided into three classes: geometrical, physical, and hybrid. At present, the physically-based approach is considered by many researchers as the most important one. Physically-based models are mainly classified into two types: discrete mass point approach, and continuum approach. These methods are compared, and their advantages and disadvantages are pointed out. In addition, the effectiveness of these algorithms is compared, and the fields of application of these models are pointed out. The prospect of future researches on physically-based modeling is outlined; it is thought that the Finite Element Model will be an important direction.
