Abstract: Due to the outstanding performance of Gabor filter in spatial／spatia-l frequency localization‚ a method of optimized Gabor filter design is presented for edge detection.Its performance is investigated using the measure proposed by Canny.Experimental results show that this approach is robust for edge detection.
