Abstract: Methods of 2D finite element mesh generation are reviewed. Special attention is paid to the node connection approach, where the nonrandom node generation technique is improved and applied to the aircraft structure containing cracks. A method for constructing the transition area between the fine mesh region and the normal ones is also presented.
