基于局部特征匹配的对称面提取算法

Study on Symmetry Plane Extraction from Point Cloud Based on Local Geometric Symmetry

  • 摘要: 在反求工程中,对称面提取对于点云的几何模型重建具有重要意义.根据对称性原理,给出了点云模型中双侧对称性的数学定义.在此基础上,构造了一种基于迭代最近点(ICP)数据匹配的对称面提取算法.该算法已经在反求工程CAD系统RESOFT中实现,并应用于汽车引擎罩、卫生洁具零件的模型重构.

     

    Abstract: Symmetry plane extraction is very important to the geometric model reconstruction of an object in reverse engineering. A mathematical definition of bilateral symmetry in point cloud is proposed after a profound study of the principle of symmetry, and an iterative closest point (ICP) based symmetry plane extraction method is presented. The method has been implemented in a reverse engineering software system RE-SOFT developed by Zhejiang university. The application in the reconstruction of an engine cover of a car and a sanitation part shows that the algorithm is capable of meeting the general engineering needs.
