Abstract: The basic principles and characteristics of CAID technology is presented in detail. Concerning the roles of industrial design and its relationship with engineering design in product development process,the framework of CAID system is contrived,and its functioning way is studied.Finally,the paper introduces a CAID system——CD R1.0.
