DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A Z39.50 SERVER

摘要: Z39.50作为网络环境下信息服务的国际标准,已被国外许多大型图书馆支持,但我国的各级图书馆等文献情报服务机构目前几乎没有支持Z39.50服务的.文章给出了在Internet上实现Z39.50服务的一整套方案,着重讨论了其中的关键技术,为图书情报界实现Z39.50服务提供了样板.实际系统的成功开发和试运行的结果证明了设计方案的可行性.

Abstract: As an IR standard，Z39.50 is now widely used in foreign libraries．To help libraries in China to provide information service via Z39.50，a total solution to the realization of a Z39.50 server on the Internet is given and thus a Z39.50 server template for libraries is presented．The critical technology to the solution is mainly discussed．An actual system developed shows that the design is feasible．
