Abstract: According to the characteristics of configurable product, a product configuration model GPCM based on generic bill-of-material (GBOM) is presented. The generic bill-of-material (GBOM) uses configurable modules as configuration units. Knowledge to guide the configuration process is represented by constraints among units. The integration of GBOM with PDM, ERP and CAD are also discussed and an application is presented.
