Abstract: In this paper the segmental affine transformation is used to produce an approximate offset curve for C¹ plane curve with arbitrary function．Each segment of this offset curve has the same function form as the corresponding segment of the original curve and has the invariable geometric characteristics under affine transformation，and also it shows a better approximation to the offset curve．
