Abstract:
Software tools play an important role in current ASIP design and the automatic design of ASIP relies greatly on whether software tools can be customized automatically.Oriented to transport triggered architecture,the software tools automatic customization method are discussed deeply and the automatic generation method for some critical architectural descriptions is proposed,such as extended instruction,object code encodings and reservation table.In which,extended instruction information is generated according to grammar tree and other descriptions of baseline instructions,parallel code encodings is generated by classifying and numbering function units and register file access ports,and reservation table is designed by analyzing the data transports and the resource requirement of an instruction.Experimental results indicate that efficient software tools can be generated automatically with this flexible and simple method after the instruction-set and other architectural parameters are changed.
