Abstract:
In taking into account of technology characters and application requirement of High-Speed Machining (HSM), an algorithm on tool-path generation, optimized through the use of helix-blend-Zigzag, is put forward in the paper. The tool-path generated by the algorithm is laconic-smooth and controllable, and meets the needs of HSM and high surface-quality. Furthermore, the two methods, transition-section based on NURBS and lower transition-section-height between machining regions adopted by the algorithm, are also efficient and beneficial for HSM. The empiric results show that the part surfaces have not been gouged by cutting tool, and the algorithm works stably and reliably in Superman CAD/CAM.
