Abstract: Based on the solid modelling modelar block of AutoCAD version 11，a feature modelling system for box parts AFM is developed by the authors. By using this system, the 3-D computer aided design for box parts can be performed, and the connection with CAPP system is implemented through the feature data file generated from AFM. In this paper, the design idea, the system structure, and some problems in developing of AFM are discussed.
