Abstract: The paper proposes a hybrid remote rendering method which takes into account the balance between the graphic process ability and the transmission capability across network in the mobile client side. With mult-i resolution level of details with progressive meshes and progressive transmission scheme，the method can obtain a good balance between image quality and workload upon client-server sides.The server side can take the network bandwidth，limitations of mobile devices and user interactions into consideration， and then adaptively choose a model with proper LOD，extract the feature lines and finally send the line packages to client for local stylistic rendering.The method is applied to the archaeological digital museum for remote model display，and fine performance is obtained.
