Abstract: This paper addresses the application of STEP techniques in CIM environment and explores the principles of establishing STEP feature model, realizing feature-based modeling in CAD/CAPP, implementing STEP toolkit and carrying out model mapping. Based on these approaches, a kind of “Plug and Play” technique for feature mapping and information integration is discussed. Finally, a system independent method to feature-based CAD/CAPP integration is presented.
