基于HVS特性的图像边缘锐化方法

Image Edge Sharpening Based on the Peculiarity of Human Vision System

  • 摘要: 边缘锐化是提取图像中特定信息的基本手段.从分析边缘锐化常规算法以及图像的统计特征,讨论人类视觉系统(HVS)的特性的基础出发,提出了一种基于HVS特性的边缘锐化方法,进一步深入分析讨论了该算法的原理与推广使用.应用C++编程实现算法,在分析实验图像结果的基础上,论证了该方法针对背景颜色较为单一的图像进行边缘锐化时的简单实用性.

     

    Abstract: Human Vision System is more sensitive to the abrupt and irregular changes in image regions than smooth and regular fluctuations. This peculiarity of HVS together with the statistic characteristics of image background is used to set up a dynamic threshold of edge extraction. Experiment shows that the Roberts' gradient based approach of edge sharpening introduces noise from background, while HVS approach can effectively suppress the noise.
